Explanation of test report
After you've run a test, you'll get a report with an overall score and an overview of each category. Here we explain what the numbers and icons mean and how the total score is calculated.
What does the score mean?
The score is a percentage from 0 to 100. It shows how much of the tested standards your domain meets. 100% means everything is in place — and you can get a 100% mark.
Icon explanation
Passed — the requirement is met and counts towards the score
Recommended — works, but one setting should be improved for full security
Not passed — the requirement is not met and detracts from the score
Not tested — the requirement is not relevant or could not be measured
How to calculate the total score
The overall score is the average of each qualifying category — not fixed percentages per category. Within each category, sub-controls count with points according to their weight.
- Only categories with at least one mandatory part requirement count.
- Each qualifying category is weighted equally — with N categories each contributing 1/N.
- Within a category, partial checks are weighted by points (10, 5 or 2).
- Example: category A scores 30/40 (75%) and category B 100/100 (100%) gives (75% + 100%) / 2 = 87.5% — not 130/140.
